Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra Assesses Forward Base Readiness, Pilots Su-30 MKI Sortie
Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the operational readiness at two forward air bases located in the western sector.
In a demonstration of exemplary leadership, the Air Marshal undertook an operational mission aboard a Su-30 MKI, which is India's premier multi-role air superiority fighter. This sortie underscored the combat preparedness, flexibility, and operational capability of the units equipped with Su-30 MKI along the western frontier.

Honouring a Legend: Memorial to Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC
During the visit, Air Marshal Mishra unveiled a newly established memorial honoring Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the sole recipient of the Param Vir Chakra in the Indian Air Force. The memorial commemorates his extraordinary valor in the 1971 Indo-Pak war and serves as a lasting source of inspiration for all air warriors.
