General Dhiraj Seth Receives Parental Blessings After Taking Charge as Army Chief

General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, has officially taken on the role of the 31st Chief of the Army Staff, marking the occasion with a heartfelt acknowledgment of his family's military heritage.

After receiving the ceremonial Guard of Honour at South Block, General Seth paid tribute to his father, Lieutenant General K.M. Seth (Retd.), by saluting him and respectfully touching his feet to seek his blessings. He also turned to his mother for her blessings, a gesture demonstrating humility and respect in line with Indian family traditions.

The event was further distinguished when General Seth's younger brother, Rear Admiral Ravnish Seth, saluted the newly appointed Army Chief. This moment highlighted the family's notable history of military service.

Lieutenant General K.M. Seth (Retd.) had a celebrated career in the Indian Army before his retirement in 1997, making the ceremony a significant acknowledgment of a multi-generational legacy of service.

The ceremony emphasized the core values of honour, respect, and tradition that are central to the Indian Armed Forces, exemplifying these principles at the highest levels of military leadership.
