Advanced Data Processing Course Concludes at MCTE; Lt Col Balwan Singh Awarded Gold Medal
The Advanced Data Processing Course for Record Officers at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) concluded on May 2, 2026. This marked the end of a specialized training program designed to enhance the digital record management skills within the Indian Army.
Participants in the course were provided with extensive instruction in areas such as Record Office Automation Software, basic cybersecurity, networking, database management, and analytical systems. The focus was on equipping officers with the skills necessary for the efficient, secure, and precise management of records in an increasingly digital and data-oriented military landscape.

Brigadier Santosh Kumar Rana, the Commander of the FCTS & IT Wing at MCTE, led the closing ceremony and honored the graduating officers. He stressed the increasing necessity of technological expertise in contemporary military administration and underlined how data-driven systems can enhance operational effectiveness.
Lt Col Balwan Singh from the Armoured Corps Records received the esteemed Commandant’s Gold Medal for achieving the top position in the Order of Merit, signifying exceptional performance throughout the program.
This initiative represents the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to modernization and digital transformation, ensuring that its personnel are equipped with advanced technical capabilities to address current administrative and operational demands.
