60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC Organises Blood Donation Camp at Handique Girls’ College in Guwahati

Handique Girls’ College, in collaboration with Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and the 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC under Group Headquarters Guwahati, organised a blood donation camp on September 10, 2026, drawing active participation from battalion staff, students and NCC cadets from several colleges.

The camp was held under the theme “A Drop of Blood, A Gift of Life” and saw a large number of volunteers step forward to donate blood. The initiative was organised as a humanitarian effort aimed at supporting the need for safe blood and encouraging young people to take part in life-saving community service.

According to the organisers, the programme was intended not only to facilitate voluntary blood donation but also to strengthen awareness about its importance. By bringing together cadets, students and staff, the camp created an opportunity to promote a culture of giving and to motivate more young people to support similar initiatives in the future.

The event also reflected the broader values associated with NCC training, including social responsibility, humanitarian service and community engagement. Cadets who took part in the camp contributed directly to the welfare of the community, extending their role beyond routine training activities.

The initiative was in keeping with the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline” and reinforced the organisation’s emphasis on shaping responsible and socially conscious citizens through practical service to society.
