48 CISF Constables Promoted to Head Constable at DMRC Delhi Unit Ceremony
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in Delhi held a Promotion and Pipping Ceremony for 48 personnel who were elevated from Constable/GD to Head Constable/GD, a move that formally places them in roles with greater responsibility within the force.
The ceremony was organised to recognise the service, dedication and hard work of the personnel as they moved up in rank. The promoted officials were formally pipped with their new ranks, marking their transition into positions that demand higher levels of discipline, leadership and commitment in the course of their security duties.
Shri Santosh Chalke, DIG/DMRC, attended the event as the chief guest. He was joined by Shri Gurjeet Singh, Senior Commandant, Shri Pauliankap, Senior Commandant, and other CISF officers.

Senior officers congratulated the newly promoted personnel and reminded them that promotion is not only a recognition of past performance, but also the start of a more demanding phase of service. They noted that the new rank brings added responsibility and a greater role in carrying out the force’s security obligations.
For the 48 CISF personnel, the elevation from Constable/GD to Head Constable/GD represents a professional step forward that comes with increased expectations. The rank requires them to carry out their duties with even greater discipline and commitment while contributing to the operational effectiveness of the unit.

The occasion was also a moment of pride for the personnel and their colleagues, reflecting years of dedicated service and steady professional progress within the force. The new rank, while ceremonial in appearance, also signals a practical shift in responsibility as the personnel continue their service in one of the country’s key security organisations.
With their promotion, the personnel are expected to take on their enhanced duties with renewed motivation while continuing to uphold the professionalism, discipline and commitment associated with the CISF.

The CISF continues to play a central role in securing critical infrastructure and important installations across India. Among its major responsibilities is the security of the Delhi Metro network, where CISF personnel help safeguard one of the country’s busiest urban transport systems.
