Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) was not being conducted since past few years but from AFCAT 2 2014 onwards it’ll be conducted as a part of AFCAT exams.  After a gap of around two years EKT is back!

Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) is a test for the engineering graduates those who apply for the Technical Branches in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Engineering Knowledge Test is a test carried out by Indian Air Force, along with the AFCAT exam to test the basic knowledge of engineering graduates applying for Technical Entries through AFCAT.

What does EKT mean?

EKT is abbreviation form for Engineering Knowledge Test. Carried out by Air Force Common Admission Test this is a simple test to check the basic knowledge related to engineering.

Who can give Engineering Knowledge Test?

The applicants those who are applying for the Technical Entries through the AFCAT exam can give this exam along with the normal AFCAT exam. It is compulsory for engineering graduates who are appearing for technical entry in the Air Force, they have to pass this test along with the AFCAT written test.

What does Engineering Knowledge Test contain and what is the time duration?

Engineering Knowledge Test consists of objective type multiple choice questions related to the basic concepts of engineering. The questions will generally be dealing with the basic concepts as well as a thorough understanding and clarity of your basics will help you solve this test easily. The time duration for EKT is 45 minutes.

When does Engineering Knowledge Test take place?

The EKT takes place immediately after the AFCAT paper that is as soon as the two hours of AFCAT test paper gets over. The normal test papers will be followed by EKT for the engineering graduates who are applying for technical branch entry through AFCAT.

Since you apply for or as an engineer in IAF for the technical branch, it is important for you to clear this Engineering Knowledge Test which is a part of AFCAT exam and to get a call for SSB interview. You can also apply for Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) branch or Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) branch, as an engineering graduate.

  1. Is it possible to join IAF through AFCAT having myopic eye of -9.. But sight is 6/9?

    1. -9 is too much, please check the notification.

  2. IF NOT CLEARED EKT , WILL I BE STILL CALLED FOR NON TECHNICAL.
    AS TECHNICAL AND NON TECHNICAL BOTH ARE IN PREFERENCE
