Women Break Barriers as Territorial Army Launches First-Ever Female Recruitment Rally in Imphal
The 165 Infantry Battalion (TA), Home & Hearth (H&H), Assam, is set to host a recruitment rally in Imphal, Manipur, under the direction of the Eastern Command. This event is scheduled to take place from December 1 to December 7, 2025.
In a pioneering move towards enhancing gender equality, the Territorial Army (TA) is opening its recruitment process to female candidates for the first time. This opportunity will allow selected women to become the inaugural female soldiers in the Territorial Army (Home & Hearth Battalion), representing a crucial advancement in gender inclusivity within the Indian Armed Forces.
The rally has attracted significant participation, demonstrating both the increased interest of women in serving the nation and the TA's dedication to promoting diversity and equal opportunities. Those who are selected will receive extensive training to work alongside male soldiers, contributing to regional security and community-focused missions.
