Western Command Launches Advanced Basketball Node in Patiala for Mission Olympics
A cutting-edge Basketball Node has been inaugurated at Patiala under the Western Command, marking a key advancement in the Indian Army's Mission Olympics initiative, which is dedicated to fostering sporting excellence within the military ranks.

The facility is equipped with several professional-grade basketball courts, integrated strength training areas, and sports therapy zones, all aimed at promoting comprehensive fitness and improving the performance of Army athletes. This center exemplifies the Army’s strategic initiative to build modern sports infrastructure that complies with international standards.

During a visit to the new node, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Army Commander, Western Command, lauded those involved in its detailed planning and execution. He highlighted the project as a testament to the Army’s ongoing dedication to promoting discipline, fitness, and national pride through sports.
