Vadodara Police Arrest Two for Using Fake Army Ex-Servicemen Cards to Get Security Jobs
Vadodara City Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested two men for allegedly using forged Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards and other fake military documents to get jobs with private security agencies in the city. Police acted on specific intelligence that the duo was carrying bogus Army papers.
The accused have been identified as Dhirendrasingh Haal, also referred to as Dhirendrasing Harising, and Bhupendrasingh Gautam, also referred to as Bhupendrasing Shivkumarsing Gauttam or Bhupendrasingh Gautam Rajput. According to Gujarati media reports, both men are residents of Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. Dhirendrasingh Haal was detained from Parishrampark Society on Gorwa Road, while Bhupendrasingh Gautam was arrested from Sikotardham Society in the Karodia area of Vadodara.
During the searches and subsequent questioning, police recovered a set of forged documents, including Indian Army service books, certificates of service, dependent certificates, pension cards and fake ex-servicemen identity cards. Investigators found that neither of the two men had ever served in the Indian Army.
Police said the accused allegedly used the counterfeit documents to obtain employment as security guards with private security firms, including Mahesana, Universal and Sainik security agencies operating in the city.
According to the investigation so far, the two men told police that they had obtained the forged papers through intermediaries. Police have also named two other individuals, Captain Sonavne of a local security firm and Ajaysinh Chauhan, as being involved in the forgery. Both are currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
An offence of forgery has been registered at Gorwa police station. Investigators are now examining how the documents were prepared, whether a wider network is involved, and if more forged Army-related papers are in circulation.
Police have said the use of fake Indian Army ex-servicemen identity cards is a serious concern because such documents can be misused to gain access to sensitive places or create a false sense of legitimacy. The case has also drawn attention to the broader problem of military identity documents being used for employment and other gains.
Further investigation is underway.
