US Secretary of State Rubio: US Monitors India-Pakistan Relations Daily

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stated in an interview that Washington maintains vigilant monitoring of the situation between India and Pakistan on a daily basis. Speaking to NBC News’ Meet The Press, Rubio highlighted the tenuous nature of ceasefires while drawing comparisons to global conflicts.
Rubio commented, “One of the complications of the ceasefire is that they have to be maintained, which is very difficult. Every single day, we keep an eye on what is happening between Pakistan and India.”
He emphasized that ceasefires require mutual agreement to remain effective, cautioning that such agreements “can fall apart very quickly.” While discussing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Rubio noted that the United States is not aiming for a “permanent ceasefire” in Ukraine but is instead seeking a peace deal to prevent further conflicts.
In another interview with Fox Business, Rubio addressed India-Pakistan relations, acknowledging the US President's focus on peace. However, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already stated in Parliament that no foreign leader has urged India to stop Operation Sindoor. Moreover, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar confirmed that there was no third-party involvement in the ceasefire process.
