Minimum Qualifying Standards

  • The minimum qualifying standard in the written stage was established at 334 marks out of 900 possible. Applicants needed to secure at least 25% in each subject to progress.
  • The score achieved by the last recommended candidate at the final stage was 699 out of 1800 marks.

Tie-Principles

To resolve situations where candidates attained identical aggregate marks, the following tie-breaking principles were applied:

(i) If two candidates had the same aggregate (final) marks, the one with higher marks in the written exam was ranked higher.
(ii) If the written marks were also the same, the candidate with a higher score in Paper-II (General Ability Test) was placed higher on the merit list.
(iii) If scores in both (i) and (ii) were still identical, the older candidate was given the higher rank.

These criteria highlight the stringent standards and transparent selection process maintained by the commission to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates for defense services.
