Tri-Service Multi-Domain Integration Showcased in Southern Command's Exercise TRISHUL
The Southern Command is actively engaging in a series of Tri-Service exercises called Exercise TRISHUL. These exercises aim to validate comprehensive integration across land, sea, and air operations, highlighting India's expanding capabilities in multi-domain operations. The exercise reflects the Armed Forces' principles of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation.
Focus on Multi-Domain Integration
Exercise TRISHUL began with several mission-focused validations designed to boost joint operational readiness across various domains. This includes electronic warfare, cyber and counter-drone operations, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and air defense control and reporting. These activities underscore the Armed Forces' capacity to dominate both virtual and physical domains through coordinated, technology-driven integration.

Intense Training Across Diverse Terrains
In the Thar Desert, formations from the Southern Command are participating in Exercises MaruJwala and Akhand Prahaar. These exercises feature integrated maneuvers to test combined arms coordination, rapid mobility, and precision targeting under realistic conditions. The exercises will culminate in a large-scale joint combat exercise, which will validate multi-domain coordination and highlight the Indian Army’s commitment to transformation through extensive training and real-time validation.

Joint Operations in the Kutch Sector
A collaborative field exercise is underway in the Kutch Sector, involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Border Security Force (BSF). This exercise rehearses integrated operational capabilities in close coordination with the civil administration, showcasing the concept of Military–Civil Fusion to enhance national security preparedness through synchronized planning and execution.
Culmination with Amphibious Operations
The final phase of Exercise TRISHUL will include a Joint Amphibious Exercise off the Saurashtra Coast. This phase will demonstrate beach landing operations by the Amphibious Forces of Southern Command, confirming the Indian Armed Forces' proficiency in executing multi-domain, tri-service operations with seamless coordination across land, sea, and air.

A Testament to Jointness and Modernisation
Exercise TRISHUL reaffirms the Armed Forces' dedication to Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation, acting as a testbed for the Indian Army’s Decade of Transformation initiative. This initiative emphasizes five strategic pillars: Jointness and Integration, Force Restructuring, Modernisation and Technology Infusion, Improving Systems and Processes, and Enhancing Human Resource Skills to meet the evolving nature of warfare.
The Indian Army has reiterated its commitment to evolving as a Future-Ready Force, prepared to tackle emerging challenges across the full spectrum of conflict through jointness, innovation, and mission-driven transformation.
