SVPNPA Hosts Director's Parade Ahead of 77RR Passing Out Ceremony
The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) witnessed the Director's Parade today, serving as a precursor to the upcoming Passing Out Parade (POP) for the 77th Regular Recruit (77RR) batch. Held on the academy premises, the event highlighted the rigorous training and international cooperation that are hallmarks of the academy.
The parade, led by Anjit A Nayar, an IPS probationer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, featured a contingent of 190 officer trainees, including 16 international participants from Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal. This underscores the academy's commitment to fostering global partnerships in police training. The event marked the conclusion of the first phase of an 11-month intensive training program aimed at preparing future Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to tackle contemporary policing challenges.
SVPNPA Director Amit Garg inspected the parade and addressed the probationers, underscoring the significance of their training and dedication. The event provided a visual spectacle with trainees lined up in precise formations on the rain-slicked parade ground, an ornate podium decked with flowers, and a ceremonial jeep inspection, all reflecting the academy's tradition of military precision.
During the Director's Parade, 41 academy officials were honored with the Director's Commendation Roll & Insignia and Director's Commendation Roll. Ms. Kirti Yadav, an IPS Probationer from the AGMUT cadre, received the Medal for the best Probationer in Drill. Shri Bansode Pratik Dadasaheb from the Chhattisgarh cadre was recognized as the best Probationer in Musketry. Additionally, Mr. Kuenga Lhendup, a trainee from the Royal Bhutan Police, was awarded the Medal for Best Gentleman Probationer in PT.
Founded in 1986, SVPNPA remains a pivotal institution for police training in India, preparing officers to assume roles as Assistant Superintendents of Police across the nation. The Passing Out Parade for the 77RR batch, following this rehearsal, will signify the formal completion of their foundational training period.
