Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award in Oncology

Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI). This accolade recognizes her exceptional contributions to the fields of oncology, medical education, and the progress of cancer care in the country.

The award was presented by Dr. Umesh Mahantshetty, the Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and the Vice President of AROI, during the Oncovision 2026 event held at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in New Delhi.

Surg VAdm Arti Sarin's career, which spans nearly four decades, has been marked by her significant impact on radiation oncology, clinical excellence, medical research, teaching, and healthcare leadership within the Armed Forces Medical Services.

In her role as the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Surg VAdm Sarin continues to lead the tri-services medical organization. She is committed to advancing military healthcare, enhancing medical education, and developing specialized cancer treatments, thereby further fortifying the medical capabilities of the Armed Forces.
