Short Naval Orientation Course for Medical Officers Concludes at INA Ezhimala

The Short Naval Orientation Course for Medical Officers has concluded at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, after a focused training programme intended to prepare participating doctors for service in the Indian Navy’s operational environment. The course combined professional orientation with an introduction to the values, traditions and leadership expectations associated with naval service.

According to the academy, the programme was designed to strengthen leadership qualities among medical officers while also familiarising them with the Naval Value System. The aim was to equip them to shoulder their responsibilities with greater confidence and professionalism as they move into future appointments.

The concluding ceremony included the administration of the Oath of Allegiance to the participating officers. The oath reaffirmed their commitment to the nation and to the responsibilities they will carry as members of the Indian Navy.

To recognise performance during the course and encourage continued academic and professional effort, book prizes were presented to deserving officers. The awards were intended to promote a culture of learning and professional excellence among the participants.

The Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy addressed the newly oriented medical officers and shared his experience and insights with them during the ceremony. He encouraged them to approach their future appointments with confidence, commitment and pride.

He also underscored the importance of preserving the values and traditions linked to naval service as the officers advance in their careers. The message was framed around the need for medical officers to remain aligned with the standards expected of personnel serving in the Navy.
