Shatrujeet Brigade Marks 85th Raising Day with 150-Km White Water Rafting Expedition from Rudraprayag to Rishikesh
Shatrujeet Brigade marked its 85th Raising Day with the flag-off of a White Water Rafting Expedition on the River Ganga, with Brigadier Rajat Tyagi, Commander of the brigade, sending the team on its way. The venture has been organised as part of the anniversary celebrations and is intended to reflect the formation’s long-standing emphasis on courage, camaraderie and adventure.
The expedition will cover 150 kilometres from Rudraprayag to Rishikesh, taking the participants through a demanding Himalayan river route. The team began the journey carrying forward the spirit of “Shatrujeet” and the brigade’s ethos, “Men Apart, Every Man An Emperor.”

The route includes Grade II and Grade III rapids, making the expedition a physically demanding exercise in addition to a ceremonial one. The river stretch is designed to test the endurance, teamwork and resilience of the personnel taking part, with close coordination expected throughout the journey.
By combining adventure with celebration, the brigade is using the rafting expedition to highlight the qualities it associates with its identity. The journey through the Ganga’s Himalayan terrain is also meant to reinforce the spirit of adventure traditionally associated with the airborne fraternity.

As the participants make their way from Rudraprayag towards Rishikesh, the expedition will conclude only after they have negotiated the full 150-km route. The challenging river conditions, including the Grade II and Grade III rapids, are central to the experience and form the basis of the expedition’s test of teamwork and resilience.
The White Water Rafting Expedition stands as part of the brigade’s 85th Raising Day observance, bringing together commemoration and outdoor challenge in a single event. For the personnel taking part, it offers an opportunity to match the brigade’s celebrated ethos with a demanding environment on the river.
