Security Forces Neutralise Four UKNA Insurgents in Manipur Operation

In a decisive counter-insurgency operation, Security Forces successfully eliminated four members of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a group not participating in the Suspension of Operations agreement. The operation, based on intelligence inputs, took place in the early hours of November 4, 2025, at Khanpi village, situated approximately 80 kilometers west of Churachandpur, Manipur.

Terrorists Open Fire on Army Column

Official reports indicate that the Army column was engaged in a search operation in the area when they came under unprovoked fire from the militants. The ensuing gun battle between the Security Forces and the insurgents led to the death of four UKNA members.

Operation Ongoing in Challenging Terrain

The operation is currently ongoing, with extensive searches being conducted in the nearby forested regions to neutralize any remaining threats and to recover weapons or other military supplies. The difficult terrain and dense foliage in the area pose significant challenges to the continuing mission.

Response to Recent UKNA Atrocities

This operation follows a series of violent acts by UKNA members, including the murder of a village chief, the intimidation of local residents, and efforts to destabilize peace in the region. The success of this mission is perceived as a firm stance against insurgent violence and their attempts to disrupt the restoration of normalcy in Manipur.

Commitment to Peace and Civilian Safety

The Indian Army and Assam Rifles reiterated their dedication to safeguarding civilians, maintaining law and order, and re-establishing peace in the troubled regions. The elimination of these insurgents demonstrates the operational readiness and determination of the forces to confront any threat to regional stability.
