RIMC Cadets Engage with Senior Army Officials and Explore Shimla’s Cultural Heritage
A contingent of 25 cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), along with three instructors, embarked on an educational tour to Shimla on May 5–6, 2026, aiming to enhance their understanding of military and cultural contexts.
During their time in Shimla, the group visited the Headquarters Army Training Command (ARTRAC). There, they engaged with the Chief of Staff, who encouraged the cadets to consider careers in the Armed Forces. This interaction offered them valuable perspectives on military leadership, discipline, and various opportunities within the defence sector.

The cadets also observed a demonstration of infantry weapons and communication systems used by an infantry battalion, which provided them with practical insights into contemporary military equipment and operations.
Additionally, the cadets met with Kavinder Gupta, who engaged with the young students and inspired them to play a role in nation-building.

Beyond their military exposure, the cadets explored the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, enriching their visit with cultural insights. The tour underscored the significance of experiential learning in cultivating future leaders and motivating them towards careers in the armed forces.
