Pakistani Officer Faces Online Criticism After Claiming Strikes on Non-Existent Indian Airbases

A Pakistani military officer has become the subject of widespread online mockery following his assertions that Pakistani missile strikes during cross-border conflicts in May 2025 successfully targeted two Indian airbases, which are not officially recognized.

The controversy arose from a viral video featuring Captain Muneeb Zamal, who claimed that Pakistan managed to hit “Rajouri Airbase” and “Mamun Airbase” during Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos, a response to India’s Operation Sindoor.

However, Rajouri, a district in Jammu and Kashmir, does not host an operational Indian Air Force airbase. Similarly, Mamun is known only as a military cantonment area near Pathankot, unrelated to any Indian Air Force station.

The comments quickly drew sarcastic responses on social media, with users questioning the reliability of Pakistan’s operational briefings and ridiculing the claims.

This incident occurs amidst heightened tensions following the 2025 military confrontation between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s subsequent military actions under Operation Sindoor.

On May 10, 2025, during the escalation, Pakistan reportedly launched drones and missiles aimed at various Indian locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Among the weaponry deployed was the Fatah-1 guided artillery rocket, which was reportedly intercepted by Indian air defense systems over Sirsa.

Debris from the missile and drone attacks was later found in multiple locations, including agricultural fields in Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Additional suspected missile debris was reportedly recovered from Dal Lake in September 2025.

The viral video has once again sparked online discussions about misinformation, military propaganda, and the role of information warfare during regional conflicts.
