Mortar Training Course Concludes at Infantry School, Mhow; Naik Surendra KC and Corporal Prakash Singh Honored

The Infantry School in Mhow has successfully completed its Mortar (JN) Course on September 17, where 13 students from Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka trained alongside Indian Army personnel. This program highlighted the increasing regional military cooperation, supported by historical agreements such as the 1950 Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship, which includes mutual defense collaboration.

The closing ceremony of the course emphasized the importance of battlefield effectiveness, precision fire support, and operational safety—skills considered crucial in modern warfare. Naik Surendra KC received the award for Overall Best Student, while Corporal Prakash Singh Air from the Nepali Army was named Best Foreign Student. Other exceptional participants were also honored with trophies and certificates in recognition of their achievements.

Global research, such as a report by the RAND Corporation, suggests that advanced artillery training can decrease error rates by up to 30%, highlighting the importance of such rigorous courses.

The Infantry School remains integral in preparing soldiers for complex operational settings, with the 2025 Mortar Course demonstrating India's dedication to military excellence and international cooperation.
