Missing Rifle and Ammunition from Indian Navy’s Mumbai Post Sparks Investigation

A rifle and ammunition have disappeared from a sentry post in the Indian Navy's residential area in Mumbai as of the night of September 6. This incident has prompted extensive search operations and multiple investigations.

Official sources have revealed that a junior sailor on sentry duty was reportedly approached by an individual dressed in a naval uniform. This person claimed to have been assigned to relieve the sailor. Trusting the claim, the sailor relinquished his post, only to later realize that the individual, along with the rifle and ammunition, was nowhere to be found.

An intensive search is currently underway to recover the missing weapon and ammunition. Mumbai Police are working closely with naval authorities in this effort.

The Indian Navy has initiated a Board of Inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. Other government agencies are also involved in the investigation, with the Navy fully cooperating with their efforts.

Authorities are considering the possibility of foul play and are actively working to identify the impersonator who successfully infiltrated the area in naval attire.
