MCTE Secures Runner-Up Position at Gameathon Hackathon 2026

The Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow made a significant impact at the Gameathon Hackathon 2026, a national event organized by the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) in Chennai. Three teams from the college emerged among the top ten finalists in the competition.

The event, which concluded on June 25, 2026, brought together participants from various leading academic institutions and organizations across the country. They were tasked with developing innovative, technology-driven solutions to address contemporary challenges.

One of the MCTE teams, consisting of Captain Anmol Syal, Captain Adarsh Rajput, and Captain Abhishek Madhukar, stood out by claiming the runners-up position. They were recognized for creating an application that enhances cybersecurity awareness.

The application aims to educate users on recognizing and responding to various cyber threats, such as phishing attacks, malware, AI-enabled cybercrimes, and social engineering techniques. It combines interactive learning with practical awareness modules to improve cyber resilience and promote safe digital practices.

This innovative contribution received national recognition, and the team was awarded by Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, at the closing ceremony.

MCTE's achievement underscores its commitment to fostering innovation, technological excellence, and research in emerging fields critical to national security. The institution consistently encourages its officers and trainees to develop practical solutions for current operational and technological challenges.

Officials highlighted that this outstanding performance reflects the college's growing expertise in cybersecurity, digital innovation, and application development, reaffirming its status as a premier center for military technology education.

The MCTE teams' success at the national competition illustrates the Indian Army's dedication to cultivating technological talent and fostering innovation in areas such as cyber defense, artificial intelligence, and information security.

This accomplishment aligns with the broader vision of the Armed Forces to utilize indigenous innovation and advanced technologies, building a future-ready, digitally empowered force to address evolving security challenges.
