Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral Visits Agniveer Recruitment Rally in Ferozepur
Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding of the Golden Arrow Division, visited the Agniveer Recruitment Rally at Ferozepur on August 22, 2026, and reviewed the process being used to select candidates for the Indian Army. During the visit, he also interacted with personnel involved in the recruitment effort and met aspiring Agniveers taking part in the rally.
The General Officer praised the smooth and transparent manner in which the rally was being conducted, and noted the coordinated work of the Indian Army, the civil administration and participating NGOs in putting in place the necessary arrangements for candidates. His remarks reflected the emphasis on orderly conduct, support services and a fair selection environment for those appearing at the rally.

The rally gave young men and women from the region an opportunity to move forward with their ambition of joining the Indian Army and serving the nation. The turnout and enthusiasm of the candidates reflected, according to the event’s organisers, the long-standing military tradition associated with Punjab and the continued interest among youth in military service.
Maj Gen Manral also acknowledged the care and assistance being extended to candidates throughout the recruitment process. That support, he observed, helped create an organised and candidate-friendly atmosphere at the venue, where the focus remained on ensuring that the process was efficient as well as accessible to those attending.

His interaction with the aspiring Agniveers was also intended to encourage the young candidates preparing to begin a career in the Armed Forces. Such direct engagement from senior officers is often seen as a morale boost for recruits and applicants navigating the selection process.
The recruitment rally, as reflected in the visit, was presented as part of the Indian Army’s effort to maintain a fair, transparent and efficient selection system while giving motivated youth an avenue to contribute to national service. The event also highlighted the continuing appeal of Army service in Punjab, where military tradition remains a strong influence on many young people.

The visit concluded with the broader message that the recruitment rally was not only a selection exercise, but also an occasion to connect with aspiring soldiers and reinforce the Indian Army’s outreach to youth eager to serve under the Agnipath framework.
