Maj Gen Manish Kumar Reviews Recruitment Efforts and Training Plans at ARO Lansdowne
Major General Manish Kumar, YSM, SM**, the Additional Director General of Headquarters Recruiting Zone for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, conducted a visit to the Army Recruiting Office in Lansdowne. His visit coincided with the active candidate dispatch phase for the recruitment period of 2025–26.
The primary objective of the visit was to supervise recruitment activities and address the significant increase in candidate intake. The current recruitment cycle has seen a nearly threefold increase in vacancies compared to past years.
While interacting with candidates, Maj Gen Manish Kumar offered his congratulations to those who had advanced in the recruitment process. He provided insights on military service, leadership, and the responsibilities that come with joining the Indian Army, aiming to inspire and encourage the aspiring Agniveers at the threshold of their military careers.
Colonel R.S. Panwar, Director Recruiting at ARO Lansdowne, briefed the ADG on the preparations for the future recruitment rallies for the year 2027. The briefing included details on technological and infrastructural improvements implemented over the past year to enhance transparency, efficiency, and candidate management throughout the recruitment process.
The upgrades are designed to streamline recruitment procedures, ensuring a fair, technology-driven, and candidate-friendly approach, in line with the Indian Army's modernization initiatives.
During the visit, Maj Gen Manish Kumar also engaged with Brigadier V.S. Negi, VSM, Commandant of the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre. Their discussions aimed to review and strengthen the post-recruitment training curriculum for new Agniveers, focusing on aligning the training with current operational needs while upholding high standards of military professionalism.
The visit concluded with the General Officer directly engaging with both young candidates and recruitment staff, thereby boosting morale and reaffirming the Army's dedication to fostering the next wave of soldiers.
Officials emphasized that the interactions underscored the Indian Army's ongoing commitment to transparent recruitment, efficient training, and the development of capable, motivated Agniveers ready to serve the nation with dedication and professionalism.
