Maj Gen Mandeep Pal Singh Gill Visits Dehradun PR Unit Ahead of Superannuation
Major General Mandeep Pal Singh Gill, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttarakhand Sub Area, visited the Public Relations Unit in Dehradun, where he reviewed its functioning and met personnel serving in the unit.
During the visit, the Public Relations Officer briefed Maj Gen Gill on the unit’s activities and responsibilities. The interaction offered an opportunity to assess how the unit communicates the activities and initiatives of the Armed Forces, a role that remains central to public outreach and information-sharing.
Maj Gen Gill also spent time with the troops, where he appreciated their professionalism, dedication and commitment to duty. He praised the team for maintaining high standards while continuing to uphold the traditions and values associated with the Armed Forces.
The visit came at a particularly significant time, as Maj Gen Gill is scheduled to superannuate on August 31, 2026, bringing to a close a distinguished military career.
As a gesture of appreciation, a memento was presented to Maj Gen Gill on behalf of the Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, in recognition of his dedicated service to the nation.
The occasion also allowed personnel of the Public Relations Unit to acknowledge his leadership and contribution, while conveying their best wishes as he prepares to move into the next phase of his life.
He was wished a dignified and well-deserved retirement, along with gratitude for his distinguished service and commitment to the Armed Forces and the nation.
