Lt Kalpana Sharma Honoured with Commandant’s Trophy at Army Air Defence College Gopalpur Ceremony

A comprehensive 24-week training program for Young Officers of Army Air Defence has concluded at the Army Air Defence College. This course was designed to provide officers with enhanced tactical and technical skills necessary to address modern aerial threats effectively.

The training focused on several key areas including the latest advancements in air defence radars, guns, and missile systems. Officers were also taught modern air defence tactics and how to apply technology-driven and innovative solutions. Participants in the program included officers from the Indian Army as well as those from friendly foreign nations such as Malawi, Cameroon, and Namibia.

At the conclusion of the course, awards were distributed to outstanding officers. The Commandant’s Trophy was awarded to Lt Kalpana Sharma. Lt Deepak Kumar and Lt Aaryan Naresh Israni jointly received the Silver Gun Trophy. These awards were presented by the Commandant of the College.

The program also placed a strong emphasis on equipping officers to handle sophisticated and complex aerial threats of the future. The integration of cutting-edge technology in air defence operations and enhancing the operational readiness of air defence units were key components of the curriculum.

The completion of this course underscores the Indian Army’s dedication to fostering a technologically advanced and future-ready air defence force, ensuring the protection of the nation's airspace.
