Lt Gurbhej Singh Recognized as Best in Unconventional Tactics at CIJWS Vairengte Course Completion

The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte concluded its Unconventional Warfare Course on December 24, 2025, marking the end of a rigorous period of specialized military training.

Participants in the course underwent extensive training in guerrilla warfare strategies, employing innovative combat techniques and mastering survival skills in challenging environments. The program placed a significant focus on Red Teaming, which encouraged soldiers to rethink traditional methodologies and enhance their ability to counter unconventional and asymmetric threats.

Maj Gen Kulvir Singh, SM, Commandant of CIJWS, addressed the trainees at the course's conclusion, commending their perseverance, flexibility, and professionalism. He emphasized the increasing importance of unconventional warfare skills in both current and future conflict situations.

In recognition of outstanding performance, Lt Gurbhej Singh was awarded the title of Best in Unconventional Tactics, applauding his tactical expertise, creativity, and performance in challenging operational settings.

The course reaffirmed CIJWS's reputation as a leading institution in counter-insurgency and jungle warfare training, continuing its mission to equip the Indian Army with highly skilled and combat-ready leaders.
