Lt Gen Virendra Vats and Goa CM Discuss Bolstering NCC Efforts in the State

Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, holding the titles YSM, SM, VSM, and serving as the Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), recently met with Goa's Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant. The agenda centered on enhancing the NCC's presence and capabilities within the state.

The dialogue between the two officials covered several key areas, including the establishment of the NCC Group Headquarters in Goa, the expansion of NCC units, improvements in training facilities, and addressing the shortage of civilian staff. They also discussed establishing a permanent NCC Training Centre in Velim.

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant expressed the state government's unwavering support for these initiatives, emphasizing Goa's dedication to fostering youth development, leadership skills, and nation-building through the NCC.

Accompanying the Director General at the meeting were Air Commodore Kamal Chadha, Deputy Director General of the NCC Directorate Karnataka & Goa, and Colonel C. Rajashekar, Group Commander of the NCC Group Headquarters in Belagavi.

This meeting highlights the ongoing collaboration between the NCC and the Goa Government, aimed at strengthening training infrastructure and expanding opportunities for young cadets to develop leadership, discipline, and a commitment to national service.
