Lt Gen Sanjeev Chauhan's Official Visit to Nepal Focuses on Military Engagement and Veteran Relations
Lieutenant General Sanjeev Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, who currently serves as the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Strategic Forces Command, President of the Gorkha Brigade, and Colonel of 1 Gorkha Rifles, has embarked on an official visit to Nepal. The purpose of his visit is to enhance military and veteran relations.
In the course of his visit, Lt Gen Chauhan made a call to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, where he engaged in discussions with the Indian Ambassador to Nepal regarding issues of shared interest and cooperation.
The General Officer also visited the Defence Wing at the Indian Embassy. There, he received briefings on the ongoing defence collaboration efforts and activities involving the armed forces from both nations.

A significant aspect of the visit was his meeting with Ex-Servicemen, where he recognized their vital contributions and long-standing service. He expressed gratitude for their unwavering dedication and reiterated the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of veterans and their families.
This visit highlighted the enduring ties between the people and militaries of India and Nepal, particularly emphasizing the historic connection through the Gorkha regiments and the service of Nepali citizens in the Indian Army.

Officials have remarked on the significance of such engagements in bolstering defence cooperation, fostering goodwill, and maintaining strong links with the veteran community in Nepal.
