Lieutenant General RS Sundaram, SM, VSM, who serves as the Director General Recruiting at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army), conducted a visit to the Selection Centre South on April 26, 28, and 29, 2026. The purpose of his visit was to assess the operations of the Services Selection Boards (SSBs).

During his tour, the General Officer received a detailed briefing on the assessment procedures employed at the SSBs, which are designed to evaluate candidates aspiring to become Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces. The briefing highlighted various stages of testing, including psychological evaluations, group tasks, and personal interviews.

Lt Gen Sundaram also examined the testing infrastructure and facilities at the Selection Centre South, emphasizing their importance in maintaining a fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process. The centre is instrumental in identifying and nurturing future leaders for the armed forces.
