Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni Reviews Engineering Support, Technical Readiness Along LAC with Fire and Fury Corps
Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni, Director General Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, visited forward troops deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) under the Fire and Fury Corps to review the engineering support framework and assess the operational preparedness of weapons and equipment held by units and formations.
The visit placed a clear emphasis on technical readiness in high-altitude conditions, where equipment must continue to function reliably despite difficult terrain and extreme climatic stresses. Lt Gen Sahni examined how engineering support was being delivered to sustain the operational availability of weapons and equipment deployed with forward formations.
During the review, the General Officer assessed next-generation vehicles (NGVs), specialised equipment, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), maintenance and repair facilities, and the implementation of emerging technologies. These elements are central to the support structure required to keep systems serviceable in demanding operational environments.
The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers plays a critical role in sustaining Army formations in such areas, where maintenance demands are shaped by altitude, weather and operational constraints.
