Lt Gen Rajiv Kumar Sahni Honors Fallen Heroes at EME Corps Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony

A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the National War Memorial in New Delhi in commemoration of the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Corps Day. This ceremony honored the memory of the fallen heroes of the Corps.

Leading the ceremony was Lieutenant General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, who serves as the Director General EME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps. He laid a wreath on behalf of all ranks of the Corps of EME. The ceremony was attended by both serving personnel and veterans, who came together to pay their respects to the Bravehearts who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The event underscored the Corps’ unwavering commitment to its motto, ‘Karam Hi Dharma’ (Work is Worship), and highlighted its ongoing dedication to maintaining the operational readiness and technological excellence of the Indian Army.

The Corps of EME, originally established to provide engineering support for the Army’s extensive array of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and optical equipment, has become one of the most technologically sophisticated branches of the Indian Army. Throughout the years, it has played a pivotal role in enhancing combat effectiveness through innovation, maintenance, and modernization of military equipment.

As the Corps celebrates its distinguished history, the event at the National War Memorial served as a fitting tribute to its heroes—those who have served with distinction and those who continue to uphold the Corps’ proud tradition of technical excellence, bravery, and service to the nation.
