Lt Gen Rajiv K Sahni Evaluates Technological Advancements in Konark Corps EME Units
Lieutenant General Rajiv K Sahni, who serves as the Director General of Electronics & Mechanical Engineers and Colonel Commandant, conducted a comprehensive review of the technical capabilities and operational support initiatives of the Konark Corps and EME units during his visit to Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Nagtalao.
Throughout his visit, General Sahni engaged with personnel and assessed the engineering support framework that is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of combat-critical equipment within the formations.

General Sahni praised the "Konark Eagles" for their exemplary mission reliability of essential combat equipment. He acknowledged their in-house development of an ecosystem that facilitates the mass production and maintenance of Unmanned Aerial Systems and Counter-UAS technologies.
Such initiatives reflect the Indian Army's dedication to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, focusing on bolstering indigenous defense capabilities and minimizing reliance on foreign technology.

The Director General also expressed appreciation for the application of additive manufacturing technologies, which have addressed engineering challenges and enhanced maintenance efficiency in operational contexts.
Furthermore, he commended the Konark Corps Technology Centre for developing advanced technical infrastructure with the use of robotics and cobotics to boost engineering support capabilities.

The visit highlighted the Indian Army's increasing focus on infusing technology, fostering innovation, and implementing indigenous solutions to provide dependable technical support for current combat systems and to meet future battlefield needs.
