Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Preparedness at Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area HQ
Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command, visited Headquarters Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area to review measures aimed at strengthening the formation’s operational and logistical framework.
During the visit, the Army Commander examined initiatives related to rear-area security, infrastructure development and advanced training. These areas were identified as key elements of the support structure needed to sustain operational preparedness and keep the formation functioning effectively.

The review placed particular emphasis on the need to reinforce rear-area security and develop infrastructure that can better support military requirements. It also covered advanced training initiatives, which are part of the broader effort to maintain professional standards and prepare personnel for changing operational demands.
Alongside the operational review, Lt Gen Pushkar felicitated Sub Vishnu Sarvannan, Hav Prince Noble and Nk Manu Francis for their achievements as sailing medallists at the Asian Games 2026. Their recognition reflected the Armed Forces’ practice of acknowledging sporting excellence in addition to military performance.

The awardees’ success was also highlighted as an example of the dedication required to excel in competitive sport while serving in uniform. Their medals brought attention to the wider role of sporting achievement within the military environment.
