Lt Gen Pratik Sharma Updates LG Sinha on Successful Operation Mahadev

Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, provided Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha with an update today regarding the successful conclusion of Operation Mahadev. Accompanying him was Lt. Gen. Prashant Srivastava, the General Officer Commanding 15 Corps.

In the course of their meeting, the Lieutenant Governor extended his appreciation to the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police for their coordinated actions in neutralizing three Pakistani terrorists. These terrorists were linked to the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, which resulted in the loss of 26 civilian lives.

Lt. Gen. Sharma explained that the operation was the outcome of extensive search efforts over the past several months in South Kashmir's dense Dachigam forest. Persistent intelligence reports had indicated a terrorist presence in the area, leading to the formation of specialized joint teams.

Based on precise intelligence, a high-risk operation was launched by the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF into the heavily forested region. This operation successfully concluded with the elimination of all three terrorists, including the suspected mastermind of the Pahalgam attack.

The Lieutenant Governor praised the collaboration between security forces and intelligence agencies, asserting that Operation Mahadev delivers a powerful message against cross-border terrorism and marks a critical step toward restoring peace in the Kashmir Valley.
