Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command, led the Formation Commanders' Conference at the Headquarters Sapta Shakti Command on June 5 and 6, 2026.

This two-day event gathered senior commanders to thoroughly assess operational preparedness, capability development, and the challenges anticipated in a changing security landscape.

A primary focus of the discussions was on evaluating operational readiness realistically, with an emphasis on integrating niche technologies, enhancing cyber capabilities, and progressing the objectives of Atmanirbhar Bharat through indigenous solutions and innovation.

The conference also concentrated on boosting organizational effectiveness through targeted training, capability development, leadership refinement, and the adoption of operational concepts that are prepared for future challenges.

The Army Commander underscored the critical role of harnessing emerging technologies and encouraging innovation to sustain a decisive edge in modern combat scenarios. In the course of the conference, the Army Commander also recognized the winners of various competitions held under the command, such as the Inter-Formation Drone Sub-Unit Competition, Sports Competitions, and the esteemed General J.J. Singh Shooting Competition.
