Lt Gen Manjinder Singh Assesses Operational Readiness of Tanot Brigade and Russell Vipers
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, who commands the Sapta Shakti Command, conducted an essential evaluation of the Tanot Brigade and the Russell Vipers' operational readiness today. These units, located near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan, are crucial for maintaining national security in this strategically sensitive region.

The area has a rich military legacy, especially the Tanot region, home to the Tanot Mata Temple, which famously survived over 3,000 enemy bombings during the 1971 Battle of Longewala. This visit is part of the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative, started earlier this year, aimed at promoting battlefield tourism and rejuvenating war memorials like Longewala, with expectations of boosting regional growth and enhancing national pride.
Lt Gen Singh's review is part of wider efforts to boost military proficiency on the western front. Recent statistics indicate a 15% increase in operational effectiveness due to improved surveillance and technological integration. The Army Commander expressed confidence in the troops' readiness and applauded their significant contributions to missions and national defense goals.
