Lt Gen Harpal Singh Takes Helm as Director General of Border Roads Organisation
Lt Gen Harpal Singh has taken over as the 29th Director General of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), overseeing its mission as India's leading agency for developing strategic road infrastructure.
In his address to officers, personnel, and civilian paid labourers (CPLs), Lt Gen Harpal Singh urged all ranks to maintain their dedication and enthusiasm in accomplishing the task of building critical strategic infrastructure in some of the country’s toughest terrains. He emphasized the crucial role BRO plays in bolstering national security, enhancing operational mobility, and fostering socio-economic growth in remote and border areas.
During the New Year 2026 celebrations, the Director General extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all ranks and CPLs, commending their steadfast dedication, resilience, and hard work in nation-building efforts. He recognized the relentless efforts of BRO personnel who work under extreme weather and terrain conditions to maintain year-round connectivity.
With the new leadership, there is a renewed focus on timely project execution, quality construction, and innovation, reinforcing the BRO’s mission to bolster India’s border infrastructure and provide the Armed Forces with dependable, all-weather connectivity.
