Lt Gen Girish Kalia Evaluates Assam Rifles' Operational Readiness in Mizoram Border Region
Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, who serves as the General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, conducted a visit to an Assam Rifles formation in Mizoram. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the operational readiness and security dynamics along the Indo-Myanmar border.
During his time there, Lt Gen Kalia was provided with an in-depth briefing on the formation's current state of operational readiness, border management strategies, and the shifting security landscape in the region. The assessment aimed at enhancing border defense mechanisms and ensuring a high level of preparedness to tackle any emerging threats.
Senior commanders informed the General of the formation's recent operational successes, which included the recovery of military-grade equipment and the execution of anti-narcotics operations that targeted cross-border smuggling and other illegal activities.

The briefing further highlighted the Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to secure the international border. This is being achieved through comprehensive surveillance, coordinated military operations, and continuous vigilance. The focus remains on maintaining seamless operational capabilities in response to the complex security situation along the Indo-Myanmar frontier.
Lt Gen Kalia also assessed various civic action programs initiated by the formation to enhance its relationship with local communities. These programs aim to promote development, build trust, and contribute to lasting peace and stability in the area.
