Lt Gen Girish Kalia Assesses Assam Rifles' Operational Readiness in Northeast
Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, who commands the Spear Corps, conducted visits to Assam Rifles units located in Lekhapani, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tuensang, Nagaland. The purpose of these visits was to assess the operational readiness and counter-insurgency efforts currently underway in the region.
Throughout his visit, the General Officer Commanding received updates on the current security conditions, the deployment of forces, and the initiatives being implemented to maintain peace and stability in border areas and regions affected by insurgency.

Lt Gen Kalia engaged with the troops stationed in these areas, praising them for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment while managing operations in demanding terrains and complex environments.
He further recognized the crucial role played by the Assam Rifles in upholding peace, securing borders, and supporting development and stability initiatives throughout the Northeast.

This visit highlighted the ongoing emphasis by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles on maintaining operational readiness, enhancing counter-insurgency capabilities, and ensuring coordinated security measures in the strategically vital northeastern area.
