Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth Assesses Tech Advancements and Operational Readiness at Shahbaz Division
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, made a visit to the Shahbaz Division. During his visit, he received a detailed briefing on the formation's readiness for operations, their advanced warfare capabilities, and current initiatives to integrate new technologies.
In the course of the visit, the Army Commander evaluated the division's ongoing transformation aimed at becoming a future-ready force. This transformation is being propelled by the adoption of New Generation Equipment (NGE), the establishment of a comprehensive drone ecosystem, and the implementation of advanced automation technologies. The division is utilizing systems powered by artificial intelligence, loitering munitions, and indigenous innovations to boost their operational effectiveness and situational awareness on the battlefield.

A key event during the visit involved a demonstration of mobile Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) fabrication and repair vehicles, which are designed to provide quick maintenance and support for drone operations in the field. Additionally, the Army Commander witnessed live demonstrations of precision munition delivery using platforms developed in-house, showcasing the division's enhanced capacity for remote, high-precision strikes.

These demonstrations highlighted the division's improved ability to address new threats across the spectrum of modern warfare. By integrating unmanned systems and indigenous technologies with network-enabled operations, the formation aims to achieve superiority on the battlefield and increase its ability to respond effectively in dynamic operational settings.

Lt Gen Seth praised the Shahbaz Division for its proactive approach and its progress toward achieving self-reliance under the Atmanirbharta initiative. He commended the division's swift adoption of technology as part of the Indian Army's ongoing Decade of Transformation, noting that the integration of technology is crucial for establishing credible and mission-ready combat capabilities.
The visit underscored Southern Command's dedication to evolving traditional military units into agile, technology-driven forces that are capable of addressing both current and future operational challenges.
