Lt Gen DG Misra Evaluates Readiness and Inaugurates New Housing at Meerut Station

Lt Gen DG Misra, AVSM, who serves as the General Officer Commanding of the Uttar Bharat Area, made a visit to Headquarters Pashchim UP Sub Area in Meerut on February 4, 2026, to evaluate the formation's operational and administrative readiness.

During his visit, the Army Commander reviewed crucial functional areas and engaged with commanders and staff. He emphasized the necessity for continuous readiness, effective administration, and the welfare of troops as essential components for maintaining operational efficiency.

In a move that significantly boosted morale, Lt Gen DG Misra inaugurated 294 new dwelling units at Parameswaran Enclave designed for the soldiers and their families stationed at Meerut Military Station. The new housing aims to improve the quality of life, enhance family support systems, and promote the wellbeing of service personnel.

Speaking to those gathered, the Army Commander stressed that robust housing is essential for morale and combat readiness. He pointed out that providing respectable living conditions for soldiers and their families underscores the Army’s ongoing commitment to those who serve the nation with dedication and pride.
