Lt Gen CG Muralidharan Evaluates Medical Preparedness at Key Military Facilities in Siliguri Corridor
Lieutenant General CG Muralidharan, serving as the Director General Medical Services (Army) and the Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps, conducted a visit to the 158 Base Hospital and 38 AMSD on May 16, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to assess the medical readiness and healthcare infrastructure in the strategically crucial Siliguri Corridor.
During his time there, Lt Gen Muralidharan unveiled the “Ready Reckoner for Medical Officers.” This reference guide is dedicated to facilitating the safe evacuation of critically ill patients, thereby improving medical response and patient care in operational contexts.

Additionally, he launched the Film Array TORCH System (BIOFIRE), an advanced platform intended to enhance the military's ability to perform rapid and precise medical diagnostics.
The Director General Medical Services assessed the level of operational readiness, logistical support, and healthcare services provided to troops stationed in North Bengal and Sikkim.

He praised the units for their professional expertise, empathetic patient care, and unwavering medical support in demanding operational environments.

The visit underscored the Indian Army and the Army Medical Corps' ongoing dedication to incorporating advanced medical technologies and ensuring comprehensive healthcare support for military operations in key regions.
