Lt Gen Balakrishnan Jayan Takes Over as Director General of Dental Services
Lieutenant General Balakrishnan Jayan has taken over as the Director General of Dental Services (DGDS), following the retirement of Lt. Gen. Vineet Sharma, who concluded a notable career of nearly 40 years in military service.
This transition signifies a significant shift for both the Army Dental Corps and the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).
On this occasion, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, who is the Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, offered her warm congratulations to Lt. Gen. Balakrishnan Jayan and wished him a successful term as the leader of military dental services.
Lt. Gen. Jayan takes on this role at a crucial time as the Armed Forces Medical Services are focused on improving healthcare delivery, embracing new medical technologies, and enhancing patient-focused care across the Armed Forces.
The DGAFMS also honored the outgoing Director General Dental Services, Lt. Gen. Vineet Sharma, for his notable service and significant contributions to military dentistry and healthcare.
