Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Evaluates Training and Capability Enhancement at 39 Gorkha Training Centre
Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, paid a visit to the 39 Gorkha Training Centre to assess its training and operational readiness. This visit underscores the Indian Army's commitment to enhancing capabilities as part of its Decade of Transformation initiative.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sengupta witnessed demonstrations that showcased the integration of technology at the Centre, with Agniveers demonstrating their proficiency in drone operation. This display highlights the growing expertise in emerging technologies, which the Army Commander praised, noting its importance for success in modern and future combat scenarios.

Lt Gen Sengupta emphasized that training is fundamental to combat readiness. He highlighted that the Centre's approach of technology-driven training equips Agniveers for both current duties and the complex challenges they will encounter in frontline units, particularly in high-intensity areas.

As part of his visit, Lt Gen Sengupta inaugurated the Multi Skill Training Centre, which is designed to equip soon-to-retire personnel with vital skills in electricals and electronics. This initiative aims to facilitate their transition from military to civilian roles, reflecting the Army's comprehensive approach to training and long-term empowerment.
