Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta Assesses Operational Preparedness in Kumaon Sector, Engages with ITBP Leadership
Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, recently conducted a visit to forward positions in the Kumaon Sector. The purpose of this visit was to examine the operational preparedness, combat readiness, and overall posture of troops stationed in high-altitude, challenging terrains.
Throughout the visit, the Army Commander received briefings on the security situation, troop deployments, and the operational measures in place to maintain a heightened state of readiness along the borders. He evaluated the troops' readiness in these rugged and inhospitable conditions, focusing on efforts to enhance operational effectiveness in the region.
Lieutenant General Sengupta engaged with soldiers stationed in these forward areas, praising their exceptional morale, determination, and dedication to duty. He acknowledged their professionalism and commitment to protecting the nation's borders, despite difficult environmental and operational challenges.

During the visit, the Army Commander also met with Shri Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Their discussions centered on strengthening operational interoperability, improving coordination, and fostering joint efforts between the Indian Army and ITBP for effective border management operations.
The two leaders explored ways to enhance the synergy between the forces to ensure robust surveillance, effective response strategies, and fortified border security in strategically vital regions.
The visit underscored the ongoing focus on inter-agency cooperation and integrated operational readiness, highlighting the commitment of both organizations to safeguard India's borders through concerted and coordinated efforts.
