Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria Appointed as New Commandant of Army War College, Mhow

Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, has been appointed as the new Commandant of the Army War College (AWC) in Mhow.

He officially took over from Lieutenant General Harjeet Singh Sahi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, during a ceremonial handover attended by senior officers, faculty, and staff of the college.

Under Lt Gen Sahi’s leadership, the Army War College advanced significantly in areas such as training methods, doctrinal development, red teaming, digital learning, and infrastructure, all aimed at improving military education and operational readiness.

Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria comes with substantial operational, staff, and instructional expertise, and is anticipated to guide the institution through further transformation and modernization.

The Army War College continues to be a leading institution within the Indian Army, crucial for developing operational leadership, strategic thinking, and future warfare capabilities among Army officers.
