Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar Assesses Security and Operational Readiness in Nagaland and Assam

In Kohima, Nagaland, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, conducted a visit to the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) to assess the security situation and operational readiness in the region.

During his visit, Lt Gen Pendharkar received a briefing on the current internal security conditions, ongoing operations, and the efforts made by the Assam Rifles to maintain peace and stability. He expressed appreciation for the proactive steps taken by the formations, which were coordinated with the civil administration and other security agencies.

Subsequently, Lt Gen Pendharkar visited the Sector Headquarters Assam Rifles in Lekhapani, Assam. Here, he engaged with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and troops, acknowledging their professionalism, operational excellence, and the commitment they demonstrate while operating in challenging terrains and weather conditions.

The General Officer Commanding praised the formations for their efforts in enhancing combat readiness, intelligence collaboration, and local engagement activities, which have played a critical role in sustaining peace and stability throughout the North-Eastern region.

The visit underscored the Army's dedication to ensuring ongoing peace and security in Nagaland and Assam through coordinated action, operational alertness, and initiatives focused on the local populace.
