Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria Transfers Vajra Corps Command to Lieutenant General Amit Kabthiyal

Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, has officially transferred command of the Vajra Corps to Lieutenant General Amit Kabthiyal, YSM, SM**, signifying a significant leadership change within the Indian Army.

During his farewell address, Lt Gen Chandpuria expressed sincere appreciation for the unwavering support and professionalism demonstrated by his troops. He commended the Corps for maintaining high operational standards and encouraged personnel to continue their readiness and contribute actively to nation-building.

Lt Gen Chandpuria's tenure, which began in July 2024, was notable for his leadership through significant initiatives such as Operation Sindoor and Operation Rahat. The Corps, under his command, displayed swift and coordinated operational responses, increased combat readiness, strong joint operations across different services, and effective collaboration with civilian sectors.

Throughout his command, Lt Gen Chandpuria achieved operational excellence, fostered integrated joint operations, and bolstered cooperation with civil authorities, greatly enhancing the Corps' operational capabilities.

Following his successful leadership of the Vajra Corps, Lt Gen Chandpuria is set to join the Army War College, where he will play a role in developing future military leaders.

The transition in leadership at the Vajra Corps ensures that the tradition of excellence continues, with Lt Gen Amit Kabthiyal now at the helm as the unit maintains its commitment to high standards of operational readiness and service to the nation.
