Judge Advocate Basic Course Successfully Concludes at Institute of Military Law, New Delhi
The Judge Advocate Basic Course at the Institute of Military Law (IML) in New Delhi concluded successfully on December 30, marking a significant achievement in legal training for the Armed Forces.
The 12-week program featured participation from officers of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Departments across the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard, as well as five officers from allied nations including Cameroon, Maldives, Nepal, and Tanzania.

Throughout the course, participants gained expertise in Military Law and Allied Laws, preparing them to address legal issues related to discipline, administration, and operations in various service settings. The curriculum focused on joint operations, comparative military legal systems, and the practical application of law in operational situations.

The Valedictory Ceremony featured addresses by Justice C Hari Shankar from the Delhi High Court and the Judge Advocate General of the Indian Army. They highlighted the essential role of military legal professionals in maintaining discipline, justice, and law within the Armed Forces.
Awards were presented to distinguished officers, including international participants, recognizing their exemplary academic achievements and professional conduct during the course.

The successful completion of the Judge Advocate Basic Course reaffirmed the Institute of Military Law’s vital role in promoting legal expertise, fostering international military partnerships, and enhancing professional skills among legal officers in the armed forces, reinforcing India's reputation as a leader in advanced military legal education.
